Green Team

The Green Team leads Beth El Temple in embracing the values of sustainability, environmental justice, and the Jewish values of caring for the Earth, by working to make our building and operations more regenerative and partnering with the local community.

The synagogue has earned a Hazon Seal of Sustainability certification for the Green Team’s work on several sustainability-related projects during 2022:

• Planting a kitchen garden and a native pollinator garden on the synagogue grounds
• Replacing wasteful food containers with sustainable and compostable alternatives
• Making changes to our building to conserve energy (installing weather stripping, caulking, LED bulbs, etc.)
